How we make this

Editorial & review standards

Our guides are about money and risk, so we treat them that way. Below is exactly how we write them, who checks the content, and how to flag a mistake.

How we write our guides

Every guide exists to help you understand a topic — not to push you toward a specific product or insurer. We write commission-free: we aren't paid per policy mentioned, and we deliberately don't crown any brand the “best choice”.

  • We explain how things work, including the trade-offs.
  • We point to public sources (such as legislation and regulators) where it helps.
  • We make no recommendations for individual products or providers.

Who checks the content

Before a guide goes live, the content is reviewed by a Wft-certified insurance advisor (non-life personal & commercial). This review ensures the explanation matches current Dutch regulations and that the advice is strictly commission-free and written in the consumer's interest.

We deliberately don't name the reviewer. That keeps the review independent and prevents a personal name from being read as personal advice. The Wft certification is real; the review genuinely takes place.

How we keep it current

Insurance rules change. On every substantive update we refresh the “last reviewed” date at the top of the guide, so you can always see when an advisor last looked at it.
