Claims help: rejection
5 min readYour insurance claim was rejected. What now?
A rejection does not automatically mean the insurer is right, but it also does not mean the claim will still be paid. The first step is understanding why the claim was rejected.

1. Understand the reason for rejection
Rejections often involve coverage, exclusions, inherent defect, wear and tear, late reporting or insufficient evidence. Ask the insurer to point to the specific policy condition behind the rejection.
2. Collect evidence before responding in detail
- Photos or videos of the damage and cause.
- Receipts, maintenance proof or warranty documents.
- Repair quotes, repair reports or expert reports.
- All emails and letters from the insurer.
3. Choose your next step
Ask for clarification
If the rejection is vague, first ask for a concrete policy reference and factual explanation.
Object to the insurer
Respond calmly, factually and with evidence. Explain why you think the policy condition should be read differently.
Consider complaint routes
If you cannot resolve it, check the insurer's complaint procedure and suitable external dispute routes.
